Just $200,000 Left To Go

The Plan

Aspire! signed an agreement with Arlington County to build out the (currently unfinished) 3rd floor of Arlington Mill Community Center. Once finished, this will become Aspire!'s premiere program site and headquarters. Read the County's press release about this exciting initiative here

This ambitious project will allow us to incrementally expand our services so that we can serve more students than ever before - and all in a state-of-the-art space right in the neighborhood where our students live.

We are now just $200,000 away from our original $1 million goal to fund the complete build-out and furnishing of the space.

To support the project, Aspire! has secured the pro-bono design services of Perkins + Will , an international design and architecture firm, and  GHT, Limited , an award-winning MEP engineering firm. Additionally,  Home Aid of Northern Virginia, a nonprofit that improves the lives of thousands struggling with homelessness and HITT Contracting, a national leader in general contracting, have joined forces to manage the project and leverage support from the building community to reduce costs.

Why This Matters

Demand for Aspire!'s programs is at an all time high. Even with programs at three sites in south Arlington, we have a long waiting list in the Arlington Mill neighborhood and beyond. The new site will allow us to incrementally expand our services to serve more at-risk students than ever before, meeting more of the need. Without our services, there is simply no other place for them to go.

In the last four years, Aspire!’s flagship program, “Learning ROCKS!,” helped more than 90 percent of its students improve their reading ability. Currently the program serves 40 at-risk upper elementary-age students in the immediate area; it will double its reach in the new space.

Your support matters. Please help us reach our goal and expand outreach to at-risk students: thank you!
